A Dedicated IP is a specific number given to your web site. Most web sites have a Shared IP number. A Dedicated IP is needed if you will need to purchase a SSL Certificate. I recommend www.instantssl.com for purchasing SSL Certificates. Purchasing a SSL Certificate is an additional cost to what is below. A SSL Certificate is needed if you will need a shopping cart that processes payments for a credit card merchant. I recommend www.authorize.net for merchant accounts, but you will need to know what merchant gateway will work with the shopping cart you intend to use. SSL Certificate Installation: Cost for installing a SSL Certificate is $20.00, each time it is renewed and installed. Purchasing a SSL Certificate is an additional cost to what is below.
